The overall experience was good. I thought it took too much time. It would be cool if this were an intro to a unit. The deciding part took a while. This taught me as a teacher to slow down when asking questions because some students need more time to process. My ESL student had the hardest time with double meaning words. I think the pictures were helpful for him. Students enjoyed taking the assessment, but didn’t enjoy waiting for everyone to make a decision. The test did not take very long to make. It was simple to look for pictures and the students told me they liked having pictures. They had used clickers before with their math teacher last year.
Data Driven Instruction:
Since I would like all the students to be successful, a review of the words and their meanings would be good. I could pair students who got 100% up with students who didn’t. Exactly half my class got 100%. I would review also…which I did right away and went through the ten slides again. These questions came from their homework, so as they do them again at home I believe it will help.
