It sure took a lot longer to make the PLN projects than to view the other students projects.  I think everyone did a great job.  It was kinda scary to make a project on a program I wasn't familiar with.  On the other hand, it was good to try something new...which I love.  My son commented that I knew more technology than he did...I think it is because I was throwing out new names of programs that he hadn't heard before.  It made me look smart!  haha  I really like all the projects I viewed.

UEN sites
  • I liked going straight to the Math site instead of the slide presentation.  http://illuminations.nctm.org
  • http://www.voki.com/create.php Every student will have fun making this!
  • http://animoto.com  So many people used this for their project...I guess I need to try it.
  • Emedia- Love that I can get resources that are really good to use in my classroom.  I don't have to wait for district mail either.
  • http://digitalnewspapers.org/  This is on UEN and you didn't highlight it.  It is one of my favorite!  Students search the old newspapers for great information!

I really appreciate the chance to work with the different programs!  I really like VoiceThread!  It has so many possibilities for students and collaboration.

Children read a story...say name and age...it was fun because,....
Then people post responses.

Calm people down by tapping a heartbeat into your microphone....if they are stressed.

Reflection:  I really like going over all the different applications that collaborate.  When we do it as a class, it will help me in the future when I teach others.  My favorite video was on how to teach creativity.  I would have liked to know more how to do this in a classroom.

Tweet deck
Camille likes it..it can make columns.

Why don't people trust Wikepedia?  Highly monitored, can be changed..so it can be biased.  The more well known the topic, the better the facts become. It has a lot of sources a the bottom so you can backtrack the information.  It should not be your only choice.

Collaboration- 1+1 = 3
Sir Ken Robinson- you can plan for creative moments...need to make innovation a habit and systematic.  Corporate is very interested in creative innovation. Collaboration is the one the next part of the 21st century.  Creativity is a step on to imagination.  You have to DO something to be creative.  Apply imagination.  Original ideas that have value!  1.  First its a process and not an event.  Most people start with an idea and work with it.  You can't predict the outcome. Give students control of the process. 3.  The idea has to have a value when you have an idea.  Not rushing to judgement is a key idea in the process.
